The TP-DCDC-4848-HP DC to DC converters offered by Tycon Power Systems are a low cost and high reliability solution for those requiring 48VDC Power Over Ethernet voltage from a +/-48V battery system.

They have an integrated 10/100Mb Passive PoE injector to apply the regulated 56VDC to the CAT5 Ethernet cable. The input voltage must be between 36VDC and 72VDC.

They include an integrated POE inserter to apply the DC voltage to the CAT5 cable on Pins 4,5 (V+) and Pins 7,8 (V-). They have 2 isolated inputs to handle two power sources like a primary and backup source for uninterrupted failsafe operation. The input and output power are isolated so they can be used to convert a negative voltage to a positive voltage. Because of their wide input voltage and regulated output, they can also be used to stabilize a voltage output. Example; a voltage source is a long distance from the equipment with wide voltage fluctuations seen at the equipment.

They have various protections for surge, short circuit and overload. The units have power output of 30W.
